1. About Us

Glasgow Skin Specialists is an independent, doctor-led dermatology and minor surgery clinic.

The clinic is registered with Health Improvement Scotland.

All procedures are performed by appropriately qualified, experienced medical professionals.

Appropriate professional indemnity insurance is maintained.
2. Booking Appointments
-
Appointments are booked online via our website.
-
The clinic does not operate walk-in appointments.
-
Patients are responsible for ensuring their contact details are accurate.
-
A valid credit or debit card is required to secure consultation appointments.
-
By providing card details, patients are bound by the cancellation policy laid out in these Terms.
3. Cancellation & Non-Attendance

A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
-
Cancellations within 48 hours of the appointment time will incur the full consultation fee.
-
Appointments for surgery must be cancelled or rearranged with a minimum of 7 days' notice.
-
Cancellation within a week of surgical appointments will result in loss of deposit.
-
Repeated late cancellations or non-attendance may result in future appointments requiring full pre-payment or service being declined.
4. Late Arrival

Patients arriving late may have their appointment shortened to avoid disruption to other patients.

The full consultation fee will still apply.

If arrival is significantly delayed, the appointment may need to be rescheduled and treated as a late cancellation.
5. Consultation & Treatment Planning

All procedures require prior clinical consultation.
-
Treatment recommendations are made following medical assessment and review of relevant history.

The clinic offers surgical procedures in an outpatient setting under local anaesthetic only.

Glasgow Skin Specialists is unable to offer treatment to patients who:

require surgery under general anaesthetic;
-
require an inpatient hospital environment;
-
are unable to transfer themselves onto a treatment couch;
-
require medical imaging;
-

All patients are assessed by a medical practitioner for suitability of treatment at Glasgow Skin Specialists and referral to NHS services may be recommended if treatment falls outwith our clinic scope.
6. Surgical Procedures & Payment

Procedure fees are confirmed at the initial consultation.

A deposit for surgical procedures must be paid upon booking, following the initial consultation.
-
Full fees are paid on the day of surgery.
-
Histology fees, where applicable, are included in costs.
7. Refund Policy
-
Consultation fees are non-refundable unless cancelled with 48 hours' notice.
-
Procedure fees are non-refundable once treatment has been completed.
-
If a procedure cannot proceed for medical reasons identified at the time of surgery, fees may be adjusted accordingly.

If Glasgow Skin Specialists need to cancel an appointment due to circumstances within our control, a full refund will be offered.

Occasionally, circumstances outwith our control will require us to cancel or reschedule an appointment. In such events, we will always keep you informed and endeavour to minimise disruption as much as possible.

Any discretionary refunds are made at the clinic’s sole discretion.

Refunds will be sent to the original payment card within 14 days of the refund being approved.
8. Medical Information & Consent

Patients must provide accurate and complete medical history information.

Written informed consent is required prior to procedures.
-
Patients may withdraw consent prior to treatment.
-
Failure to disclose relevant medical information may affect treatment safety and outcomes.
9. Prescriptions & Aftercare

Prescription charges may apply where appropriate.
-
Patients must follow aftercare instructions provided.
-
Concerns should be reported promptly to the clinic during normal operating hours.

Out-of-hours contact information will be given as part of post-procedure care information.

Glasgow Skin Specialists is not an emergency service. In urgent situations patients should contact NHS 24 or attend A&E.
10. Photography & Recording

Clinical photographs may be taken as part of medical records, with consent of the patient.
-
Separate written consent will be obtained for any educational or marketing use.
-
Photography or recording by patients is not permitted at any time within clinical areas.
-
Phones should not be used in clinical areas.
-
Failure to comply with the above requests may result in service being declined.
11. Children & Chaperones

Patients under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
-
A chaperone may be offered or required for certain procedures.
12. Conduct & Safe Environment
-
The clinic operates a zero-tolerance policy towards abusive, threatening or inappropriate behaviour.

The clinic reserves the right to refuse or discontinue care where behaviour compromises safety or professional standards.
13. Privacy & Data Protection

Patient data is processed in accordance with UK GDPR.

All patient information is held by our clinical systems partner Semble Technology Ltd.

Information is stored securely and used only for clinical and administrative purposes.

Patients have the right to request access to their records.

14. Complaints

We aim to provide high standards of care at all times.

Concerns should be raised in writing to contact@glasgowskinspecialists.co.uk.

Complaints will be acknowledged promptly and investigated in line with our complaints procedure.

Patients may contact Health Improvement Scotland for independent review if required.
15. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
-
The clinic is not liable for outcomes where recognised risks have been explained and informed consent obtained.
16. Changes to Terms
-
These Terms may be updated periodically.

The current version will always be available on our website.
17. Governing Law
-
These Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland.
